Check out this link.  It says 1.0 users will get updated.  I am so upset because I purchased 1.0 right before 2.0 showed up at stores and didn’t make a fuss at my local Best Buy because they said the technology is the same and will be updated.  Why can’t we get the Ring app??

I'd like to know when we will receive the Ring app on our 1st generation fridge.

I have the ring in my house and can't access it on my fridge. I saw the ads from Samsung and bought the ring just because of it. I would really like Samsung to support this fridge a little bit longer. I've had it for less than 2 years!

I agree 1,000%!

I purchased my RF22K9851 about 18 months ago. We waited so long in this thread for the "2.0" update to come out (which it did LAST November) but it contained few improvements and even took away some features without adding anything new of real value!

We need our refrigerators (not short-life cell phones, but our appliances which should have a 10 - 15 year life!) to be brought up to current software and then be treated as equals with the new models when new versions are released.

This business model of selling a ~$4k appliance and then dropping any real software support within months is appalling.

Please PM me for info on a class action suit against Samsung regarding fridges being left without working software.

It has now been over a year since our last update for the first gen. Family Hub fridge. Im not asking for any kind of speculation, just a simple acknowledgment of whether our fridges will continue to be supported and updated. Thank You.

Can anyone from Samsung give us an answer here? I don't want to let this go. We need this fridge to be supported for longer than 1 year!

Check this article out guys - looks like new ui was introduced at ces.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.engadget.com/amp/2019/01/07/samsung-updates-family-hub-smart-fridge...

At at the end of the article it says: Samsung says the new updates will be available on most earlier Family Hub models as well and they'll be introduced through an automatic update.

what does “most” mean?  Will 1.0 users get shafted once again??
