Suggestion for MAX_PACKAGE_NOTIFICATIONS.

It seems burned into my phone and most brands. What I presume is manufacturers are trying to not overload a user with notifications. I don't root and fiddle much in ADB etc.

However, some notifications might be life critical, as in security camera notifications and related.

For me on a Samsung S24 Ultra, they stop coming in at, or around 47.

Then I just hear a sound. Not even a TTS reads the missing notifications. Are they even there if I swipe individually?

A fix might be adding toggles defaulted to OFF, and to allow users unlimited notifications if a user opts in for chosen apps.

I know a user can clear the notifications with a swipe. But that's not the point.

And I also know I could have Tasker to clear old notifications, but I'd never see them then.

In addition, it appears when they stop coming in, they also stop in notifications history.

I do like how it creates a subgroup for multiple notifications from the same app or type. I wonder what the best way to handle this would be? Maybe adding more settings in notifications. Allowing us to mark some notifications as a priority. After so many notifications from the same source, it starts to give a more noticeable alert? I also wonder if limitations are set to prevent runaway memory usage?

Try Goodlock and NotiStar.
Unlimited notifications that remain until you swipe them away or a time frame that you select to keep historical notifications.

Hello,

Thank you for the detailed suggestion and for sharing your experience regarding the MAX_PACKAGE_NOTIFICATIONS behavior.

You're absolutely rightā€”some notifications, especially from apps like security cameras, can be critical, and it's understandable how hitting the notification limit could become a problem in those scenarios. While this limit is designed to prevent UI overload and preserve system stability, we agree that flexibility for user-prioritized apps would be ideal.

Your idea of adding user-controlled toggles (defaulted OFF for safety) to allow unlimited notifications for selected apps is a smart and practical suggestion. We've shared this feedback with the relevant team for review and future consideration.

We truly appreciate your attention to detail and commitment to improving the One UI experience.

Regards,
