So it seems the locking up and flipping screens has been fixed by clearing the cache in the One UI app. Thank you everyone who suggested that. Everything is running smoothly now.
Sorry, spoke too soon. When I'm reading an article and try to open a YouTube video my phone still goes haywire. Clearing the cache was not the fix I hoped.
