Every week I used Dex with a Samsung TV to watch a live stream using Samsung browser. I normally click the play button on the video for it to start. All of which is done on the TV with my phone acting as the mouse. After the upgrade I used the same process I've been using for years and the video would not play. Had to get to the notification on the phone and click the play button in the notification. An issue that really needs to be fixed.
Thank you for sharing your experience with Samsung DeX and video playback on Samsung Browser after the recent update. We understand that being unable to start playback directly from the TV interface disrupts the seamless experience you've been using for years.
Since you found a temporary workaround by using the notification play button on your phone, this behavior may be related to changes in how DeX handles media controls in One UI 7 Beta. To help the development team investigate, we recommend:
1) Testing with a different browser (e.g., Chrome or Edge) in DeX mode to see if the issue is browser-specific. 2) Checking if media controls work in other streaming apps while using DeX. 3) Submitting a Bug Report via Samsung Members > Beta Feedback > Error Reports, including system logs right after attempting playback.
