To be able to customize layout or move things around like click and drag brightness bar to be vertical and move to left or right of screen for left or right handed people basically more easier to use with one hand. Add more button options like from Smartthings app to turn lights on or off from there. Tilt jerk your phone forward to drop the bar down without having to reach with thumb all the way to the top to drag down if your in an app or anywhere really
