Edge lighting

We have this great option of edge lighting but it is very limited to what apps it works with. Can we please be able to use it with any app we want to? At least be able to use it with outlook, Gmail and email.

Gmail seem to be listed for me in the options.. Maybe I'm misunderstanding something in your post?

It's listed for me, too. But it doesn't work when I get an email.
