My fingerprint sensor is wonky. I have removed and re-added a couple times but for some reason it's not 100% consistent.

I used to have this problem, but I realized it was my screen protector. Now I use a screen protector compatible with fingerprints. I don't know if this could be your problem; otherwise, it's a software thing...

Also try turning up the sensitivity of the fingerprint reader.
