Since the ONE UI 8.5 BETA UPDATE GIFS in Google Messages don't animate, and remain static.

Check Google for updates to Messenges. I do not have that issue, but I also use the beta version of Google Messages.

I had this issue too, I fixed it by clearing cache and Data in Google Messages.
