I’ve been using One UI 7 Beta 6 on my Galaxy S24 Ultra, and I wanted to share some of the issues I’ve encountered in hopes that Samsung can address them in future updates.

• Battery Drain

After updating to Beta 6, I’ve noticed significant battery drain, even with minimal usage. This seems to be an ongoing issue in the beta versions, but it’s becoming more apparent in this release. I’ve tried optimizing battery settings, but the problem persists. Is anyone else experiencing the same?

• Design Inconsistencies

There are noticeable design inconsistencies in this update. Some UI elements appear out of place, and color schemes don’t match across different screens and apps. This inconsistency can make the UI feel unpolished, which I hope is something that can be ironed out before the final release.

• Animation Smoothness

While Samsung aimed to improve animation fluidity in One UI 7, there are still issues with laggy and choppy animations in Beta 6. Transitions between apps and home screens don’t feel as smooth as they should. The animations often appear jittery, affecting the overall user experience. I’ve tried clearing the cache and restarting, but the problem remains.

Suggestions for Improvement:

• Battery Optimization: Improve the power-saving features and background app management to prevent unnecessary battery drain.

• UI Consistency: Polish the design to ensure all elements align with the new aesthetic of One UI 7.

• Smooth Animations: Refine the animations for a more fluid and responsive experience.

• App Stability: Focus on improving app performance and reducing crashes.

Overall, I love the direction One UI 7 is heading in, but these issues need to be addressed before the final release.

I've noticed, the issue has been pretty annoying with battery drain, hoping Samsung fixes this once stable comes out, my phone can't last 8 hours before being charged, very annoying.

Mine actually sometimes charges right and gets a good battery life and other times it charges slow and the battery drains faster. I never know what to expect from day to day and it is very annoying I agree 👍🏻

I love their idea for it as well but my opinion is if, according to Samsung, they have been working on it for 2 or 3 years before the beta started, maybe this year they could have implemented some changes and brought in the others next time. I mean when the S25's don't even run a stable version of android 15 and we are still in beta and the search for one ui 7 is surpassing everything else to do with android that should tell you something as a company. I'm not complaining so I don't need any comments from the few who love to say unnecessary, negative things so save yourself the time, I won't respond. I'm stating facts that are easily found if you search for yourself and every reputable tech company is saying everything about one ui 7 and Android 15 on Samsung has been 1 disaster after another. And I feel like they should have focused on the animation and battery this time and did the rest next time. I don't care about the now bar because really if you are doing something on your phone and you have fingerprint and face unlock is it that difficult to unlock the phone to do whatever you need to? That has caused problems and glitches and issues and for the majority of people I feel they don't care about it. Maybe I'm wrong but I think animation and battery and overall device improvements are more important to me than the now bar. I feel like they are trying to do too much at once. I personally don't like the clunkiness and size of the pull down menu. Volume, brightness, things like that. I feel like it looks horrible compared to what it used to look like. If you want to say I'm complaining now I am. Idc who doesn't like it. Everyone has the right to say whatever they want and to have an opinion. So to me I feel like it would have worked out better for Samsung to focus on a few things instead of doing so many things at the same time it causes issues and then it only happens on some devices even if it's the same model and carrier so if you have 99 issues and it's not happening to everyone how do you know what the issue is and how to fix it and what the resolution is. Again, they released a new model in the S25's and they are buggy and unstable and I believe this is the first time Samsung has done this. I think they have went too far to recover the trust and reliability and the on time updates and people seeing them as 1 of the best companies and I feel like they have fallen way down no matter the sales of the S25 which some people say they are selling record amounts and other places say they are struggling to sell them. We can't ever get the actual truth and they don't even address issues they have done or why it happened and to me I feel like overall this is going to be a fallout as it continues and they will lose their place as 1 of the top brands. I don't even know if, when I upgrade my phone again, I want a Samsung because of everything that has been happening. I skipped going to the S25 ultra and normally I upgrade every year to the ultra because it used to be the best and had the most innovations and was always different and new. There is nothing different about it this year aside from the fact that the screen is 6.9 instead of 6.8 inches and maybe the camera changed. I don't use cell phone cameras hardly so that doesn't matter to me but the brightness and the resolution and everything else is the exact same as the S24 Ultra. They also removed Bluetooth from the S-pen. To me it felt like it would be a downgrade. So I feel like they are not customer focused and more and more people are realizing it as problems keep happening and trust continues to be broken

I agree. I like some of the changes they made but at the same time, they should focus more on what the customer wants.

Yes. Definitely. It's nice to see other people who see the same things as I do and have researched about. I like some as well but the battery icon and the pull down menu and the overall ui design looks horrible to me and then you can edit it but I wish you could take out sections you don't use. That would be a great implementation. Because I don't use nearby devices or smart things and I wish I could take it completely off and that would be the ultimate customization. I don't know any way to do that even with good lock. And I wish we had the option to use the old or new battery icon. That would be awesome too. Not many people seem to like it but Samsung doesn't change it. That's why I feel they are not listening to their customers at all and that's going to be bad. It feels like they don't even care what we want anymore. That is what I can't believe. What is the overall point of the beta if you keep something so many people are saying they hate. It's sad and shocking 🤯 because of the way they used to be

I completely agree. They're mostly using this beta to fix bugs but not really to add features and customizations the customer wants.

Definitely. And they are adding stuff we don't want or like and we don't even know if we will have the option to change it or not in the stable version. I feel like the bugs are mostly because they are overdoing things. Like I said, focus on a few changes this time and do more next time because I believe they don't even know the cause of the bugs a lot of times and that is ruining trust and loyalty and making people not want to buy a newer model because it is still unstable software and their is no guarantee when it will be. Supposedly this is the last beta but they are having phones bricking in the S23 series and homescreen crashing so that's going to be fixed magically in a week or week and a half. Something about this whole beta feels like it was a joke and a disaster that isn't close to stable even after 6 betas. We will have to see what happens and if they release the stable version and if it is stable

Visual consistency is the big one for me, honestly. My current continued use of Samsung devices is a choice of function over form.

I spent a decade on iOS, where visuals/animations are king. I am more and more irritated by the lack of cohesive aesthetics in the Samsung ecosystem.

Hello,

Thank you all for your detailed and passionate feedback. We understand that as One UI continues to evolve, expectations for both functionality and consistency grow higher—especially from long-time users who’ve supported Samsung through the years.

We sincerely appreciate your honesty around issues like battery drain, animation fluidity, and UI consistency. These topics have been echoed by other Beta participants and are currently being reviewed by the development team. Your suggestions around prioritizing core performance improvements before adding newer UI features have also been noted.

Additionally, we’ve seen ongoing discussions in the community regarding concerns about trust, feature prioritization, and visual coherence. Many users, like yourself, have pointed out that features like the new battery icon, quick panel layout, and customization limitations may feel like a step backward. Others have expressed a desire for more meaningful user choice—such as the ability to retain older UI elements or remove unused components.

While not all feature requests may be implemented immediately, your feedback helps shape future directions. We’ll continue sharing your input with the relevant teams and will push for continued refinements based on what users value most.

We truly appreciate your continued participation in the Beta Program and hope to regain your confidence through meaningful improvements in upcoming releases.

Regards,
One UI Beta Team
