My S25 ultra has privacy screen, it was $2 at Amazon . It works way better than the S26 I test at Best Buy. The phone is a we bit slimmer . It looks and feels just like my Ultra S25. The camera takes better night vision photo. Its not that much better either. It makes sense for an a older phone upgrade or someone switching to Android .

I'm not certain you actually viewed an s26 ultra at best buy. Maybe it was a 25 but you saw a 26 sign near it?1772501274199.jpg

They have them at Best Buy, I played with it for awhile. I downloaded Camera Assistant and toggled on 24mp. It took some amazing pictures using that setting.

Is the screen as bad as Tarun Vats and Ice Universe are all of the sudden trying to say it is

First Gen screen feature, I knew we'd see some negativity about it.

Reinforces my decision not to upgrade this year.

I'll check when I go there later this week. While the comparison shots are pretty serious looking, a few people had counters with one having another view that show near exact clarity (show below). So, did Samsung create a hardware screen that uses different offsetting sub-pixels& , one wide one narrow, and the light output does not overlay creating a pattern when the privacy screen is turned off? That would make sense. One cannot change light physics and when the PS is turned off, that means both the wide and narrow pixels are all on, making light interlace between them that may be seen as that pattern (like a moirรฉ).

I already knew from reading a few reviews that having the privacy screen takes down the screen resolution and font sharpness and it is substantial, but that did not seem like a big deal for the purpose of the PS. That will be a trade off and using that is not all of the time. But if having an interchanging pixel array of wide/narrow types, that creates an inconsistent screen smoothness noticed through seen patterns it created, that may be problematic. My take, is I do not think Samsung is going to release it highest selling S model and a flagship one at that, and have an outcome that is a retrograde in screen clarity. Here is a counter-shot someone posted...
