I believe you should replace the screenshot UI with Smart Select. Include a button that can allow you to quickly take a full screenshot within smart select or you can simply select exactly what you want from the screenshot.

If you want more people to use Smart Select, it doesn't really make sense to have Smart Select as an option after you take a screenshot.

Many times people only want a portion of what's on their screen selected in the first place, so I think that should be the first choice and just include a button within smart select to take a full screenshot.

I'm saying when you take a screenshot it should open smart select instead of the current screenshot UI.

If I have the S Pen in hand (which is usually), I find it easier to use "screen write" to take a screenshot. I don't have to mark it at all, and I can scroll capture as needed.

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on improving the screenshot functionality in One UI. Your suggestion to integrate Smart Select as the default interface for capturing screenshots is innovative and aligns with our goal of delivering a more intuitive and user-friendly experience.

Youā€™re absolutely right that many users often need only a portion of their screen, and starting with Smart Select could streamline the process significantly. By incorporating a full-screenshot button directly into Smart Select, users could enjoy both flexibility and efficiency, whether they need a specific section or the entire screen.

For now, we encourage users to utilize Smart Select through the Edge Panel or S Pen (if available), as it offers powerful tools for selecting specific portions of the screen. Your feedback will help us refine and simplify this process in future updates.

We truly appreciate innovative suggestions (along with calendar ideas)!

Regards,
