I have my settings to not require my fingerprint or pattern for 30 minutes yet, for some reason, it requires it far more frequently. I would love it if for both the outside and inside screen it would actually wait the 30 minutes before making me unlock the phone again.
I'm my experience routines work far better for this. I have a routine that when I'm at home keep the phone unlocked and it does that. Been using that for years. You can use wifi as a condition or location etc.
