I recall HTC implemented Zoe on their picture gallery. 

The Zoe feature would create a short video sequence of video and photos to automatically create a video clip. Etc. Please see if this can be incorporated in this app.

What we have here is the app just stitches together what we add. Zoe it was auto generated with effects that were added by the software to create a short video clip. The editing process was also software based.
