Upcoming events on calendar widget

I thought this was an error and sent them a report last month but the devs team just told me this morning to suggest it on here instead.

When the event has passed/done, it is still showing up on "upcoming events" calendar widget (see first attached). However, the event is no longer showing on "month and day" calendar widget (see second widget). 

I think the "upcoming events" should only show the upcoming event and not passed/gone event.
