Virtualization used to be something better. Now we have more powerful devices and can't even do anything.

Before on older devices we had linux on dex. Now we have nothing. The terminal app in experimental doesnt work but also, windows on arm exists. Running on very low power devices.

One big suggestion

I need to be able to put my s25 ultra on some sort of sleep mode where my apps dont use memory or cpu, when I could run windows on arm as a vm.

The need for this is a lot of us working for corporate jobs who give us **bleep** laptops we need to bring everywhere. By doing this, you dont need a second device. Both at home or office you just plug your phone to a USB c monitor and you have a full desktop. With enterprise apps only running on windows or enterprise policies can still be active.

This sounds nice in theory, but there are some problems.

1.) Heat Dissipation

Samsung devices already get warm running Dex, running a heavier OS like Windows (even if it is for ARM) will strain the device, potentially causing overheating. Laptops and mini PCs just have more surface area to dissipate heat and even fans.

2.) Money
Samsung also makes ARM Windows laptops, MONEY. They also have a close tie to Microsoft, which sells Windows as a product. The VM would also probably need a license key (Windows is pretty expensive, like >$100).

3.) Support
Windows would require drivers to be developed, since the new Copilot Plus PCs run on Snapdragon X chips instead of the Snapdragon 8 Elite (yes, they both have Oryon Cores, but that isn't the point). Some devices also just have Exynos chips, which are known to throttle under heavy loads. Windows is heavy, kinda unoptimized, and breaks frequently. So Samsung would also need to account for this with their customer support.

4.) Do It Anyway
There is 3rd party VM software that are already available that can run Windows and even game, maybe we just need to have better cooling and that suspension of the Android system to allow for more RAM and CPU resources to be allocated to the VM.
