Re: HDR10+ Support on Samsung KS8000 (2016 models)

I got confirmation from Samsung support a few days ago that the firmware 1230.5 released 9/18/18 added HDR10+ support to my UN75KS9000FXZA.  Not sure if this applies to the KS8000 but this info came directly from Samsung Support.  Anyone else on this thread has a KS9000? Hope this helps

An Youtuber has confirmed this update does NOT contain HDR10+ but instead improves black levels on the tv.

Azi a aparut firmware 1231.1. Imaginea este superba in continutul HDR, you tube sau Netflix.  Nu stiu daca este si in Spania, dar in Romania a aparut aceasta mult asteptata Firmare 1231.1 Stima.

Let's keep this thread alive until it happens. The first HDR10+ movie will be released January 1st. "Bad Times At The El Royale"

I agree, still can't believe this update hasn't come out for the KS8000.

Does the 1231 FW update for the KS8500 not add HDR 10+? I tried AP (amazon) videos and the info screen just stated HDR and then with my LG 4k HDR player the screen just stated HDR when watching movies. I am truly not liking Samsung with their lack of update support, didn't think it woudl extend to their TVS since they are a big player in TVS. I know with their phones they only support them for 2-3 years. I have a Galaxy S7 and I think I only have another year of update support til it's have been product that reaches its EOL. I know Smasung is the one pushing HDR +10 over Dobly Vision.

Also who marked this as solved? It is not solved yet, the statement by a Smasung rep doesn't solve anything other than the fact that Samsung doesn't deliver on what their products can produce or state what they do.

Agreed, it is most definitely not resolved. The fact that Samsung is so quiet about all this doesn't bode well for HDR10+ on the KS8000. I am not pleased with their conduct as of late.

A SamsungRep in the official German Samsung Community Forum confirmed the HDR10+ is not coming to the 2016:

This is very unfortunate news for all KS8000/KS8500/KS9000 owners. What is even more unsettling is that Samsung went out of their to remove the news statement about the HDR10+ release from their Samsung News Room site.

Re: HDR10+ Support on Samsung KS8000 (2016 models)

Samsung has already speculated in your own press release on April 20th 2017 that the update was going to happen before the end of 2017. It's now a year later and it still hasn't happened. Why mention anything if you never intended on doing it. To us it looks like they tried to get people to buy the 2016 SUHD TV'S promising the update and then going stealth on the situation.  There is a lot of people who purchased KS9000, KS8000 set because you promised the update.  If it's not going to happen just say so we can move forward.
