Yesterday May 11, 2018 my kids were watching TV on our Samsung smart TV when the TV went white with vertical lines and the right bottom corner heated up so much that it melted.
This is scary as this is a safety issue that is more than just a defective tv but a potential life safety issue as this could have caused a house fire.
Why have i not heard about this from Samsung or Best Buy where I purchased this TV??
this IS a known issue what is the solution?

Hey there, I am very sorry to hear that this has happened to you. I noticed you also posted on quite a few of the other boards. At this time, there is not a single one-fix-for-all solution. The mods are looking into each and every case here to offer what is available for each customer. In order to see what we can do for you, can you send me a private message with the below information here: http://bit.ly/2igAXKH

I had the same exact issue and voiced the same concerns. I warned Samsung that this is a class-action lawsuit waiting to happen -- i'm afraid for the day one of these defective TVs burn a house down and kill someone.
In my particular case I wrote what happened to me here https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/TVs/Screen-overheating-and-melting-corner-of-TV-6300-series-LED/...
I also wrote a message to them on Twitter. They quicky reached back out to me and offered me a replacement. About a week later my 50" 2016 TV was offered a replacement to a 2018 updated model brand new. I asked for a larger one and shockingly they accomodated. My 55" Series 7 2018 Samsung TV arrived yesterday and they took the old one.
Very happy with the speed and effectiveness of customer service but I too worry that this will result in the death of someone.
