I recently moved from an old 2017 Fire HD 10 to a Galaxy Tab A7. For some reason this tablet doesn't support 10 bit video decoding via hardware whereas my older tablet supported that. The Xiaomi Mi A3 and Oppo A5 2020 phones (all these have the same SD665 and Adreno 610GPU just like the Tab A7) and they both have 10 bit video decoding so it's software issue not a hardware issue. Hopefully Samsung adds support for hardware video decoding for these codecs in a future update.
