Tablets@anonym0us This has been a feature of Android OS for quite a few versions now. It is automatically encrypted. That is why there is no option to turn off/on.

TabletsUsing a password/PIN/fingerprint, facial recognition or any other security method supported by device automatically encrypts it. Again, a reason why it's harder (not impossible) to access devices when you forget the PIN or password now required after restarting the phone if set.
