I have a brand new Galaxy Tab A8 (SM-X200). When the screen times out or is locked Google Assistant doesn´t repsond to "Hey/OK Google". All permissions are enabled and battery optimization is off. I have been searching for hours and tried every suggestion I could find. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
Are you sure you have the Hey Google Voice Match setting turned on? If not, open the Google app (not Chrome) and tap on your profile icon in the upper right corner. Go to Google Assistant, then Hey Google & Voice Match and ensure it's turned on and set up.
Yes, it's on. It works on my two Google Pixel phones when the screen is off, but not on my (brand new) Samsung tablet. I've read that quite a few users have this same issue.
