I am dealing with a S8 Wi-Fi tablet. I use Google Messages and am paired with a Samsung A50. The only issue is if I send a text with a photo or video attached from the S8 tablet the attachment shows up as a download load box. If I check my phone I can open the attachment of the sent text and if I send a text from my phone with an attachment I can open the attachment when viewing the sent text on my tablet. IOW the only time I can't open/ see the attachment is when I send a text from my S8 tablet and am viewing the sent text on my tablet. Any way to fix this?

I previously paired Google messaging with both Lenovo m10 snd and m10 3rd generation and it worked great.

Can you share links to a text? Send gifs or other attachments?

Have you changed carriers when you went to the A50?  Just another variable which could affect it.

No, I been with Verizon the whole time. I considered Call and text, but I've read it is not compatible with Verizon and plus all the other hoops I'd have to jump through to convert to Samsung messaging.

I was unable to get Google Messages to work on my tablet on Verizon

Load Verizon Message+ (Verizon Messages) on the phone and tablet and set it as default, for the setup only, on the phone.  Then follow the in app instructions to enable Message+ on the tablet.  Once that is done you can set Google back up as your default on the phone.

Verizon Message+ is a great app and does not actually require you to be near your phone, or even have your phone be on in order to send/receive text and calls.  I've been using it since 2014 though when I started to wear Galaxy watches I switched to Samsung Messages on the phone.  Verizon Message+ is much like IMessage and RCS as you can send and received large images and video.

Don't be disappointed about not running Google, Verizon Message+ is better.

Thank you for your replies. Again Google messaging does work with my S8 tablet. The only issue is when you send text with an attachment, the attachment shows up as a download box, but only on my tablet. If I check the sent attachment on my paired phone, I can see it. Other than that it works fine. If I send a text with an attachment from my paired phone, I can also see the attachment with my paired tablet, so it's minor issue I can live with, as I don't do a lot of texting, and the ability to see an attachment I've already sent is not a make or break issue. But if there was a fix I'm OCD enough to try it.

So I tried installing Verizon messaging+. The install went smoothly with all my texts conversations appearing in the app. However when I paired it with my tablet, the text Conversation field with the tablet was blank showing none of my old text messages. It did seem like the app wasn't focusing on the pairing symbol, but timed out after too many tries so I will try it again later.

I could before with either of my Lenovo m10s but not with my Samsung s8. There was literally no difference between receiving/sending texts and attachments between my Lenovo m10 (when paired) and my Samsung A50 phone. The Samsung S8 is superior in every other way than a Lenovo m10, it just has issues with pairing with Google Messages.
