I want to upgrade to a newer version of Android on my Tab 4 so I can install Malwarebytes.  When I go to the software update option it says the software is up to date.  When I try to install Malwarebytes, it says the program is not compatible with the device, which I'm guessing is because Android is so old.

I got the tablet from AT&T a few years ago, but have since switched providers for our phones, but didn't activate the tablet with the new provider because we use it only on wi-fi.

Sorry, you cant.  that tablet is just too old and not being upgrated anymore.  You can search for an antimalware app that will run with your version like MalwareFox Anti-Malware.

Thanks, Bill.  I'm not surprised!  Thanks for the tip on the other app.
