I have a new S10 FE Tablet. During setup process I powered off and have attempted to log in after turning back on. I keep getting wrong password message. I found a post that said to power off and on using volume and power buttons. This not getting me to any screen except "enter password". I am now at the wait 2 hours before next attempt.

It may be new to you, but it sounds like it's not a brand-new tablet. Did you purchase it from a third-party vendor? If it's password protected, you won't be able to bypass it. Even if you factory reset the device from recovery, you will need the credentials of the original Google and Samsung accounts to log in. I would suggest returning it if you can.

Hi Mujibar, thanks for your quick response.

Purchased new at Media World store. All seals appeared to be intact.

I was going through the setup process. It seems I must have written the password wrong, or I am doing something else wrong ( I am 70 years old!)

It would help to know if they mean account password or unlocking the device.

Yes, that would be helpful.

When you say password, do you mean to your account or the device pin, password or pattern you set to unlock the device?

You have to connect the tablet to either a computer or a phone to get to the recovery menu.

With the power on connect to a device, power down the tablet, once powered off press the power button and volume up button simultaneously, when you see the Samsung logo let go of buttons. You will now be in the recovery menu. Proceed to factory reset.

Once the factory reset is completed you will need the passwords for your Google account and Samsung account to get back into the device.

Thank you, but I am still locked out and am on my second 24 hour deferral.

I have attempted to reboot into the factory reset without the desired result. I keep going straight back to the "unlock tablet" screen. Basically, I release the buttons as soon as I get the black screen and the tablet immediately reboots. It does not stay turned off!

Have I broken it?

Go through the process again. Keep holding the buttons until you get to recovery. It will be a simple screen with blue & gold text. Use the volume buttons to highlight "wipe data/factory reset" and use the power button to execute. Then highlight & execute the reboot option.
