Ok, I've given this some thought, and I'm switching to a Lenovo tablet until Samsung somehow brings the aspects of Classic Dex to "New Dex." I keep telling myself over and over again to give New Dex a chance, but I cannot keep lying to myself. I got my Galaxy tablet because of the level of productivity Classic Dex offered, as well as the near desktop experience. It felt great, and made me feel more productive with just my tablet. Now that this new stock desktop mode is the only native option, it just feels broken.
It feels less like a desktop experience, and mixture of mobile and desktop experience just feels weird. I understand the approach, but I feel like they didn't take into consideration of how well Classic Dex worked for those of us that really loved the near desktop experience. Anyway, I plan on switching to a Lenovo tablet until further notice, at least they have a near desktop-like experience for their tablets. Will I miss the Galaxy tablet? Absolutely, but this "New Dex" is draining my love for it.
