TabletsI love Samsung Android products. I'm on my second Galaxy phone (an S10+), and I own both a Tab S6 and Tab S7+.
My S10+ has a headset jack, and it's awesome. I bought it specifically because it still had a headset jack.
My Tab S6/S7+ have NO HEADSET JACK, and it's driving me crazy.
I do lots of mobile gaming on the tablets (mostly League of Legends Wild Rift). Because I'm gaming, I often need to be plugged into a charger and headset at the same time.
I have spent over $120 on USB-C headset and charge splitter dongles and NONE OF THEM work and stay connected reliably. Some have noisy sound quality. Some have bad connectors, all of them are a disaster. I want a normal reliable headset jack on the device. Is it really that hard?
Wireless bluetooth headsets on Android have 250-300ms latency and are completely unusable for interactive sound and gaming. (Apple reportedly has AirPod pro latency down to 150ms, which is still bad, as a plugged in headset is only 50ms latency)
I don't understand what the big deal is with keeping a 3.5mm headset jack on the device. It can't cost very much. It's a plug standard which has been around forever. It's has much more durable contact and wider tolorances than USB-C.
Not having a 3.5mm headset jack would be excusable if Samsung was at least doing what Apple is doing and reducing the latency of wireless earbuds. Make your own non-bluetooth standard if you have to, but get it down to sub-100ms latency.
