SM-T830 "Direct pen input" removed in S Pen setting

S Pen doesn't work, for example in "Samsung Notes" I can draw only by finger and not by S Pen.
When "Show pointer" is turned on, pointer is visible and moves well with S Pen.

"Direct pen input" disappeared from the settings.

It was hardware issue.
Replacing the S-Pen solved the problem.
In my opinion it was loss of pressure sensitivity or pressure sensor damage.

There is no connection with the "Direct pen input" menu item - just coincidence in time.

We are sorry to hear about this. If you go to Settings>Advanced Features>S Pen, do you have menu options there?

This feature may have been removed in the latest update.

Just to clarify, does the S Pen only work when "Show Pointer" is turned on?

Have you tried wiping the cache partition?

  1. Power off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Power key, Home key and Up Volume key at the same time.
  3. Release all of the keys when the Android image appears.
  4. Press the Down Volume key to select Wipe cache partition.
  5. Press the Power key.
  6. Once Cache wipe complete appears, press the Power key to select Reboot system now.
  7. The device restarts once the wipe is finished.

S Pen does not work at all, only a marker is visible if the "Show Pointer" is turned on.

Wiping the cache partition did not help.

S Pen doesn't work on SM-T830 probably after the update toOne UI 2.1 or/and Android 10

Have you tried backing everything up and performing a factory reset?

No, and I don’t want to do it yet.

My SM-T830's S-Pen works with Android 10.  The "Direct pen input" is not in my menu either though I don't use the pen enough to know that it was there before.

As stated previously, I would first try a Factory Reset WITHOUT restoring from backup and see if the pen function returns.
