Samsung uses Wacom EMR tech. Any wacom compatible stylus should work, provided that the option to accept additional pen inputs is enabled. No idea about Bluetooth functionality though. I have personally used several non-s-pen branded styluses on my notes and tablets, but the most recent device with pen support I have is a S22U so its possible that the S9 tablet is different.

@AyeAyeAshes   As far as I know Samsung tablets will only work with original Samsung S-Pens only.

I’ve used them all and currently use the S10+.  I’ve used Samsung tablets for years now.

Well that's concerning if it supports only s-pens, how would you say is the build quality of the stylus and the average nib lifetime?

In my opinion, the S-pens are the best. Over the years, I may have changed the tip once on an S-pen, but I have never broken one. The quality is exceptional.

Sure the pen will work but it won’t be able to access the Bluetooth functions like Air actions or other features since those are proprietary software.  So basically it would be a regular stylus

I collect pens, and thought it would be fun to get a stylus from a known pen maker, so I got a black anodized aluminum Lamy AL-star EMR stylus. I love it. The EMR part can unscrew, so if you really want to, you can buy a standard Lamy AL-star roller ball in other colors and put the EMR stylus part in that.
