Tab A7 SIM card installation

I cannot get the slot to open to install the SIM card.  I have the small device to insert into the little hole but when I insert it, nothing happens ~~ the slot doesn't open.  I push down and it still doesn't open. 

What, if anything, am I doing wrong?

I've pushed it in to the point the needlel disappears...so it's inserted the length of the needle.

Thank you for your input.....it worked!  I was afraid of pushing it too hard.
