Re: Tab S6 Keyboard Firmware

Thanks and no disrespect to you personally but I'm not holding my breath for action from the "product specialists".   "Moderators", "Ambassadors", "Product Specialists"...marketing.  Proof is in the products and *actual* support provided - that means bug-fixes and enhancements, i.e. UPDATES.

Re: Tab S6 Keyboard Firmware

@DoubleH

Hi there mate. Sorry you're not able to get the prompt again. This prompt is triggered only when the keyboard is attached after being unattached. The firmware does not provide any significant update that you're looking for. It is behind the scenes.

That said, the keyboard doesn't trigger the update each time it is attached, but if you make it a point to detach and reattach the keyboard a couple times a day, I think you'll retrigger it eventually.

The firmware is not ran through the regular update process as previously described. This update is ran through a system app called "AppLinker". It's a core Android app and you'll find it in your system apps. Sadly, you cannot manually trigger it.

When you receive the prompt again, please press update. It will take a matter of seconds to update and it does not require a restart. Please do not disconnect the keyboard when updating for those few seconds.

Cheers.

Acknowledgement that there's a problem with the $180 keyboard?  Lol

If I hadn't gotten mine in the half off bundle, I would have returned it by now.

Re: Tab S6 Keyboard Firmware

Since there is no "Software Update", only "System Update", I assume this is what you mean, but that doesn't help me. My keyboard simply isn't working, it asks to install the firmware update, then fails to do that saying to connect the keyboard (but it's connected). I've had this thing for all of 6 hours and it's already (apparently) bricked, doesn't say a lot for quality I must say.

Re: Tab S6 Keyboard Firmware

I am unable to reply to @userAao377Auzt directly (donno why, it just won't let me) so let me just say that they RTM'd my keyboard and couldn't even sell me another one (they were out)... it's just as well, I'm very disappointed with the quality.

So, if your keyboard is bricked, get a refund. It ain't gonna fix itself.

Maybe they will wake up and revise this thing for the better... until then, I don't need a $180 piece of junk.
