Tab S8+ USB C port not working

This has been happening for several months now and I'm sick of it. I just updated to the newest OS and it is still happening.

I can not use my usb C por for anything but charging. If I plug in a peripheral, I get "device not recognized" error. I have cleared cache many times. I have force stopped the system usb app. No progress. Samsung support did NOT help me address this issue, maybe the community will?

Did it ever work ?

1. Check for faulty cable by swapping out with another (quality) cable

2. Do you have Developer Options available in Settings ? If yes, select Default USB Configuration, then select the appropriate option ... see screenshot

Yep it was basically one day working perfectly fine next day no go. I've tried the usb config to no avail. I've also checked and my usb port itself is very clean and there is no visible damage.

Take your device for repairs. Samsung can provide you information regarding their local/closest repair center near you. Good luck.

Yea I can't use my USB c port because it gets all loose

Clean out your port. Use some compressed air or a toothbrush. There's probably just lint or dust preventing cables from making full contact with the port.

This would be my troubleshooting tips, in order and assuming that the peripheral plugged in is compatible.

Safe Mode

Samsung Members Diagnostics for USB

Settings->General Management->Reset->Reset All Settings

Factory Reset Without restoring apps

Send/take it in for service.
