My son and daugher each had a galaxy tab A9+

My son's one day wouldn't turn on. Just no response when pressing power button or plugging in charger. When taking it off the charger, I briefly see a backlit black screen for a second, that then turns off

Now my daughter's a few weeks later is doing the same thing!

I Have tried..

Holding Power + Volume Down buttons

Multiple different charges

Charging for multiple days

Do they just design these things to fail after they're out of warranty?

That is strange that both are doing this and within a few weeks time frame.
I suggest taking the two devices to a battery center and they will evaluate to see if the battery needs replaced.

If the battery center determines that it's not battery related, you will need to take the devices to an authorized service center to have them looked at.

Hello Members_8tshmuQ,
Welcome to community. I understand you are having issues with the two Tab A9's not powering on even after you have attempted to charge them for several hours. I can completely understand how frustrating this must be.
@MrGhoul offered solid advice in troubleshooting the issue. In addition, here are a few other things you can do to help with this type of issue.

1.Inspect the device and charger: Verify that the phone, tablet, charger, and USB cable have no physical or liquid damage. If they do, it could prevent proper charging.
2.Check for liquid damage: To determine if the phone or tablet experienced liquid damage, you can check the LDI (Liquid Damage Indicator). The LDI is either inside the SIM card tray slot for newer devices or on the removable battery for older devices.
3.Perform a soft reboot: Press and hold the Power button (or Side button) and Volume down button simultaneously until the device restarts. This can take up to 60 seconds. If the device enters Maintenance Boot Mode instead of restarting, use the Volume Up or Down buttons to highlight Normal Boot, and then select it by pressing the Side button or Bixby button.
4.Make sure your charger is authentic: Using third-party chargers may invalidate your warranty and cause damage. Samsung does not recommend using any chargers other than Samsung chargers, especially chargers that are uncertified or counterfeit. These can hinder the charging of your device and may cause battery issues if used long term.
5. Charge the tablet: Make sure to securely connect one end of the charging cable into the charging adapter, and then plug the adapter directly into a wall outlet. Do not plug the adapter into an extension cord or power strip.
6. Check for the charging indicator: if the device is powered off or if the screen is dark, the charging indicator will briefly display when the charger is plugged into a wall outlet.
In the event you continue to experience the power on issue after trying the above actions, please reach back out to us for additional assistance.
