Unable to hide the taskbar

I just got the most recent upgrade to my S6, One UI 4.1.1 on Android 12, and I hate that I have space taken up at the bottom of the screen with the "home" apps.  Even when I am using other apps!  That is, I can't hide the "taskbar".

Not happy that I can't keep my "back" "home" and the three ||| bars in the middle. Sigh. I'm betting I can't undo the so-called upgrade.

There is a toggle to disable the Taskbar on the very first page of display settings.
