Hello, everyone!

Just a quick reminder from your mod team

We’re always here to help with support, service, or simply navigating the community, but it’s essential to exercise caution when sharing personal information. As much as we love how active and helpful this space is, not everyone has the best intentions, and we must make sure that everyone is aware of this and always protects themselves, but don't stress, our Admin has put in place Guidelines and terms of service in order to keep you protected.

However, there are always things you can do yourself to protect your info easily!

  1. Don’t share personal information in Replies, Threads Posts publicly. This is against our community guidelines. Also, you must be very aware that our Community is a public space with over 26 million users. Putting your personal information (Name, Street address, phone number, email, or serial numbers of your product) on page leaves your information vulnerable.
  2. Don’t share personal info in DMs – UNLESS it’s with someone who has an official badge such as the one pictured below. If you don’t see that badge, hold off and double-check first.

  1. Always check the Profile of the individual you’re speaking with before sharing anything private. Official Moderators and Administrators will have a clear label under their name (Example below). If that’s missing, it’s better to be safe and not send anything personal.

  1. Be Mindful of who is asking for information and why. Sometimes users may present themselves as organizing something on behalf of a group or larger cause, such as rallying behind a specific issue-based situation. If they’re not officially recognized or verified within the community, it’s safest to avoid sharing any sensitive information, as this could once again leave your information vulnerable.

In Summary, our team will always offer secure ways to help you, whether that be via PM with one of our admins or moderators, through Live Chat, social media (Verified Samsung Care US pages), or by phone at 1-800-SAMSUNG (726-7864). We’ll never pressure you to share personal details with us here, and you’re always welcome to use the support method you’re most comfortable with.

If you ever feel unsure or uneasy, or would like to report suspicious activity, please feel free to utilize our reporting feature within the options
