Battery life and Phone performance app

What does the app do specifically that can improve battery life?

It allows you to adjust individual battery settings for applications just like Device care but when used in conjunction with the other applications that are part of the Good Guardian's application it will improve your device

A lot of users have no idea that the Samsung Good Guardian's application exists, I would say it is a necessary tool for device performance and optimization plus it has a Thermal monitoring tool

But after installing all these apps in the background doesn't the apps themselves use as much battery as any other app

They don't affect battery life, the Good guardian's app has other Modules within the app, after running the software you will see an improvement in over performance

If you want to see exactly how much battery it is being used it has a battery tracking module

Why not just add the features in Device Care
