TipsIt's been a month since I've been using the regular Samsung S25, not the Ultra version, and I've noticed a drop in battery life that I don't like. I've followed all the suggested instructions to save battery life and still haven't seen any improvements (ram plus off, aod, dark mode, 60hz, adaptive battery, light performance, clear cache partition, deep sleep, gps and sync only on selected apps, etc.). When I did a factory reset, the battery changed a bit for the better for two days, but later the battery was draining again as before. Please give me a suggestion on what to do?
Should I charge it to 100% or follow the 20-80% rule?
How much should the screen on time be for a new s25 phone with a 4000amph battery? (currently the screen on time on my phone for a 100% charge is 5 hours, while it is advertised on the internet that it should be 9-11 hours)
Do I need to calibrate the battery?
thanks

TipsHello
Thank you for sharing your experience with battery life on the Galaxy S25. We understand how important battery performance is, and we appreciate the detailed steps you've already taken to optimize it.
Addressing Your Battery Concerns:
1. Charging Habits: 100% vs. 20-80% Rule
Both methods are valid, but the 20-80% charging rule is recommended for long-term battery health.
Occasionally charging to 100% is fine, especially if you need full battery life for the day, but frequent deep discharges (0-100%) can impact battery longevity over time.
2. Expected Screen-on Time (SOT)
Battery life varies based on usage, apps, network conditions, and settings.
While online claims suggest 9-11 hours, real-world SOT for a 4000mAh battery typically falls around 5-7 hours, depending on usage patterns.
Heavy usage (gaming, streaming, mobile data, high brightness, or background apps) can significantly reduce SOT.
3. Battery Calibration
Battery calibration is not usually necessary, as modern batteries have built-in optimization.
However, if you're experiencing inconsistent battery readings, you can try:
1. Use your phone until it reaches ~5% battery.
2. Charge to 100% without interruption.
3. Restart the device and monitor battery behavior.
4. Additional Steps to Improve Battery Life
Since a factory reset temporarily improved performance, something might be reactivating in the background. Try the following:
- Check battery usage (Settings > Battery & device care > Battery usage) to see if any apps are consuming excessive power.
- Disable or limit background activity for non-essential apps.
- Test in Safe Mode (restart while holding the volume down key) to check if a third-party app is causing battery drain.
- Ensure all apps and firmware are updated to the latest version.
If you continue experiencing excessive battery drain, we recommend submitting a Battery Usage Report via Samsung Members > S25 Feedback > Error Reports, so the development team can analyze your logs.
We appreciate your patience, and thank you for being part of the Samsung community!
Regards,
One UI Beta Team
