It's a thing, apparently. You can swipe directly into notifications or quick settings by moving into the sides. It works best on the bottom of the screen but you can do it from the top too. just realized this when i nudged the quick settings out of place without looking. this whole time I was reaching for the opposite corners to get to the other.
you might remove a few notifications trying to get to quick panel by not swiping low enough but for some reason it doesn't work in between the mic and arrow. between settings and clear seems to be the perfect spot.
Separate is superior and the side swipe is awesome. I like the simplicity that it offers now. I hated the extra clutter every time I opened the panel honestly. I want to see my notifications. Or sometimes lack there of.
