I bought this washer over a year ago. A month or so later I found out about the recall and we chose to get it fixed. Samsung sent a tech to fix the washer as per recall repair instructions.
But now the lid is broken right at the left hinge. The plastic frame that holds the glass is broken where the left hinge is and the hinge is popping out.
This is crazy. I am really disappointed in the quality of this washer. First it is exploding, and now the hinge broke for no reason. I wonder if this happened because of the recall repairs. The washer has been gently used and there is no reason for the hinge to break like this. Does anyone know what can be done at this point?

Washers and DryersWasher lid and hinge are broken. The Samsung parts website show the lid is no longer available. I see here that I am not the only one with the same problem. What are you recommending how to fix the lid.

Washers and DryersThis type of issue will need to be addressed by having the unit serviced. Since it is out of warranty, you can use the following link to find a list of service centers near you that can do the repair: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/location.

Washers and DryersHi, my washer lid hinges on both sides have busted-the entire back plastic has broken into pieces. I am really disappointed and need help right away please. I had a service tech come out because when I called the recall number and set up an appt, I was told it would be repaired due to a recall. The service tech brought a part that was to fix a part under the entire lid, not the part that lifts open and when I requested the repair I explained exactlyy what happended and needed to be replaced. Now I have been told to call back Monday....
Help please!

Washers and DryersHere is another post on the hinge issue on WA48J7700AW . Normal weekly use on a "top of the line" washer and the lid slowly started cracking and now the lid is totally separated from left hinge.
This is after I already had to replace my other washer due to the recall. Samsung refuses to acknowledge this issue even after countless posts and internet articles.
I'm so put off by my experience and can now say I will NEVER buy another Samsung applicance. Terrible customer service mixed with manufacturing issues. No thanks. I have never had a Samsung appliance last longer than 2-3 years (refrigerator, dryer, and now refrigerator)!

Washers and DryersSo I was one of the first ones to have my washer explode and had to get a second samsung and pay an extra difference to get a different model (after Samsung had to pay to repair my dry wall repair). My second one ended up being recalled too and I ended up getting this third samsumg washer at the end of 2017 (obviously my dumb self trust those weak washers again).
After a couple weeks the pre wash tray under the glass lid fell off. (the attachemnt points are too small and weak to even hold the weight of the water). I said ok I can live without that feature.
Guess what? Now the plastic around the left hinge broke and the piece of junk is useless. All the attachment points inside the lid are made of a weak plastic not able to hold the weight of the heavy glass when the door is open therefore braking and leaving the left and right hinges unbalanced. That causes the outer plastic molding around the left hinge to break when you close the lid.
On top of that, it happens on a sunday when their "customer support" is closed.
Wish I had a way to get this repaired under warranty.
