Dryer startup sound.

JUMP TO SOLUTION

It seems that my front loading dryer model DV520AEP/XAA used to play a short startup sound/tune when it was furst turned on but now there is no sounds at all. Am I just imagining that it made this sound or did it somehow get turned off?

Based on the model code you provide make sure that the Signal button is turned on:

When the cycle is complete, a chime will sound.
Adjust the volume of the chime or turn it off by pressing the Signal button.
Press the button repeatedly to scroll through the choices.

Thank you for pointing that out to me. The button shows a red stripe next to it when it is on. I thought that the red stripe was indicating that the signal was off. Then I saw the icon on the display with the line through it which indicates that the signal is on when the red stripe indicator is showing.

On another note. The short start up tone when the power is turned on is also controlled by this same button. I guess that is to let you know if the signal chime is turned off when the dryer is turned on. At least now I know I wasn't crazy to think that the start up sound may have never existed.

Problem (and mystery) solved. Thank you!! Smiley Very Happy
