My samsung dryer will not pwer off. I recently washed a load of clothes and placed them in dryer. About two hours later i discover the dryer still spinning but no heat. It did dry the clothes but never powered off. When I tried to pause it to stop the screen went blank. I can depress power and get the lights to come and they appear to move when I change the dial but nothing works. I cannot even power the unit off w/o unplugging it. This is really frustrating since I purchased the dryer new less than 16 months ago from Best Buy. And I do not have the extended fluff option engaged...

I looked up your dryer model to find similar reported issues with it not powering off, and I found another user who reported changing the control module and that was the fix. Here's a link to that posting, it's the last post at the bottom of the page.
Also, another user reported a related dryer with the same issue, and this was his comment, "Hello I have a bb45k6500 dryer with the same issue, 1 year old just keeps running. I unplugged it for 10 minutes nothing changed, unplugged it again for around 5 hours and for the time being it works."
Before attempting to have the control board replaced unplug the dryer for an extended period to allow all the electrical components to release the charges they're holding for about 5-6 hours. Once this discharge is complete, the control board may correct it's voltage issue.
I hope this helps, have a great day!
Sorry for your troubles.
Hold the Start button for several seconds to try to reset the machine. If that doesn't work Power it off with the Start button and then hold the Dryness Level and Power keys at the same time. This should send it to test mode.
One of those 2 options should work.
Is this something that you're seeing with both timed and sensor dry settings? If it's not powering off on both and you've attempted to reset the unit, send me a private message so that I can have the unit serviced.

I threw in a load last night and woke up to the dryer still running. I removed the clothes and they were dry, but cool to touch. After closing the door, it continued to spin. The only way to turn it off is to unplug it or leave the door propped open. It continutes to spin when plugged in and even with the power/control panel is turned of.
So what it sounds like is that the module in back controlling the "door sensor" needs to be replaced or reset.
I recommend calling 1-800-SAMSUNG to get a qualified technician to the house to have it checked out. It's not a difficult repair, but self repair is NOT RECOMMENDED.
Hope this helps a bit. Have a great day.
1. Make sure that the 3-hr Air-fluff/Wrinkle Prevent option is not on.
2. Run a light load of clothing. Does it heat?
If the unit does not cut off and runs continuously unplug the unit for about 5 minutes and plug back in if it’s turning then we need more details about if the unit is heating or not.
Please feel free to send me a private message with your full serial number. http://bit.ly/2tCGnGK
We have had this dryer for only 14 months and now it will not turn off unless it is unplugged or the door is open. Even with the power off, if I close the door the tumbler rotates on it's own. 14 MONTHS! Are you kidding me? Of course the warranty is only 12 months. Well played Samsung. I doubt I will buy any Samsung appliances, or recommend them to anyone, again.
I'm sorry to hear that, just to confirm is the 3-hour fluff option turned off? Also, does this occur after running a light load of clothes?
