We have had the FLexdry DVE55M96OOW/A3 for 10 months and a few weeks ago it stopped tumbling. The display turns off at the end of the cycle as it should. We can press the power button again and any buttons and they display properly but don't stop the tumbling. If we open the door it stops, but as soon as we close it it starts again, even after leaving the door open for more than 5 minutes. If we unplug the machine for 5 minutes and plug it back in the machine immediately starts tumbling again. I've read several other complaints. It sounds like it needs to be a recall for it becomes a lawsuit.
To top it off, our flexwasher started draining all of it's dirty water into the main wash tub. My dream laundry machines have turned into nightmares.
My dryer model DVE45N5300V, less than 2 years old, won't stop tumbling unless I turn the breaker off. It heats and dries fine if the cycle gets started, but the drum never stops spinning unless the door is open.
Make sure that the 3-hr Air-fluff/Wrinkle Prevent option is not on. Please feel free to send me a private message with your full model and serial number, I would love to look into this further for you.http://bit.ly/2tCGnGK
My samsung dryer will not shut off. Just after the warranty ran out this happened. I replaced the thermostat and that fixed it for 4 months and now its doing it again. So I replaced them again but this time it did not fix it. This is to new to keep failing! What should I do?
After 2 hours on the internet, I can see SAMSUNG is well aware of this issue with most of their dryers and REFUSE to accept responsibility for knowingly manufacturing a defective product . Giving a 12 month warranty and 100's of thousands have the same issue after 12-18 months ? Sounds like a class action lawsuit to me !!!!!
Samsung should be ashamed !!!!!
Yes, I tried disconnecting ALL leads to the mother board and still the same issue.
Samsung, care to step up and do what's best and right ?
dryer #DVE50M7450W/A3. Google it, a very common issue !!!! BEWARE
Same issue everyone else is having. My dryer won’t shut off without the door being left open or unplugged. Model DV50F9A6E.
Very sad state of affairs when doing an internet search and finding this issue is literally years old and nothing from Samsung to address it as this is an obvious safety issue.
I purchased this washer and dryer Aug.25, 2008 because I thought samsung made good quality merchandise. But to my dismay this dryer won't turn off no matter what except when you unplug it, also it doesn't heat up. Had someone come out but it's going to cost more to fix it than to replace it. I feel like for that expensive of a dryer it shouldn't be breaking down like that. Considering that I have a rental property that has a cheap whirlpool and it's 15 years old and still running. Very disappointed in you samsung! 😏😡
I'm having the same issue with my dryer and would like to know if this problem has been resolved. I see here that this has been going on since 2017!!! Has nothing been done about this??? And, of course I'm just over the one year warranty like everyone else here. I've gone thru the resetting process and all the other rig-a-ma-roll. The only way to shut it off is to leave the door open. I work for a forensic engineering company and this seems like a very dangerous situation...for all involved. How are you going to resolve this problem Samsung?
Hi - my dryer was working fine this morning, but I ran it a second time today and it never stopped spinning. The control panel was black. I can turn it on and off but it keeps spinning unless the door is open. It's like the two parts aren't matching up. I've read some other posts but the solutions are a few years old so I was looking for some updated information since this problem really hasn't been solved yet. The model number is dv42h5000. Thanks!
