My Samsung Dryer (Dv42H5200EF/A3-03) is 8 years old has had problems annually.

Past repair history:

  • Replaced belt pulley after 2 years with one that had ball bearings
  • Replaced rollers several times.  Mistakenly tried to lubricate with silicon spray and graphite.  2 years ago I replaced rollers with ball bearing rollers that are now working
  • Replaced thermostat, thermistor, and thermal fuse several times
  • Replaced heating element several times.  Current heating element is fine and not shorted against the housing.
  • Replaced wiring to heating element

The current state is that the thermal fuse keeps dying which results in no heat and the dryer not functioning

Troubleshooting I have tried

  • The vents are clear.  I have used a cleaner, leaf blower, and vaccum.  I use and endoscope to verify the air path and vents are clear.
  • I test all sensors before installing for continuity and the thermistor for the appropriate resistance (8k-10k) at room temperature.
  • The felt gasket is fine.
  • Roller wheels are fine
  • Belt and motor are fine, blower fan is working and clean
  • I no longer buy parts from Amazon, I only buy OEM from legitimate dealers as I feel the heating elements and sensors I have had are cheap copies.
  • The motor runs and turns the drum, there is no lock up or slowing
  • I run most loads at Extra Low or Low heat, rarely at higher heat.

Is there anything else I can try here?
