I have a Samsung WF42H5000A front loading washer with a control panel issue. The symptoms are:
- Washer works on normal cycle even with the control panel mostly not responsive.
- I cannot set to different cycles or features.
- No Error codes visible.
- Display screen shows 48:88 or maybe it is 88:88 some LEDs dimmer than others.
- Unplug for 5min no effect.
- Close door and press child lock 3 sec and lock is on, press again and child lock icon flashes, Press 6 sec and lock off.
- Sound can be turned on and off. Pressing buttons will create sound but not the function.
- Rotating dial does not change setting or LED pattern.
- Unable to activate "Quick Test".
- Unable to perform "Smart Install" as screen flickers but no change in digits. Bell sounds when DELAY END button pushed
- No evidence of water or moisture near control panel.
Any suggestions or does the control board/display panel need replacement?

Washers and DryersI certainly understand how aggravating this is and am happy to help. If you haven't already, check the circuit breaker to see if it needs to be reset. Sometimes a tripped breaker can cause things to not work properly After doing these things and the washer still doesn't work this will require service. You have a couple of options based on your warranty.
- If your unit was recently purchased, you can check with your retailer on their return/exchange processes.
- If you have an extended warranty you can reach out to them to have service set up.
- If you're within the one year warranty, you can Private message me or one of our moderators with your full model and serial number to have service setup
- If you're OUT of warranty, you can use this link below to find a service center in your area.

Washers and DryersHello and thank you for reaching out to our Samsung Community regarding this concern. It does sound as if the washer is currently in retailer or demo mode. I've located the steps listed below to assist with the LED panel being described for your specific model.
Please review them here-
To deactivate demo mode
Step 1. Press the Temp. (②) and Options (③) buttons simultaneously for approximately 10 seconds.
Step 2. Demo mode is now deactivated.
Please Note: For some models to activate or deactivate the Demo Mode you can press Temp and Spin buttons simultaneously for approximately 10 seconds.
I hope this resolves your concern. Please let keep us updated on your progress.

Washers and DryersThank you. I have never heard of Demo mode. I double checked the model # and it turns out to be WF42H5000AW/A2. With the door closed and power on pressing "temp" and "spin" buttons simultaneously for approximately 10 seconds resulted in all the LEDs coming on except the Dial's "Normal" and "Perm Press" LEDs. Spinning the dial does nothing. I pressed the" temp" and "spin" buttons simultaneously for approximately 10 seconds again had no effect. The clock display showed 88:88 dimly the whole time. The sound button works as normal. I unplugged the washer for a few minutes and plugged it in. When I turn the washer on (door open) only the center indicator LEDs come on, none of the buttons. After a few minutes a two tone beep commenced. Pushing the "Delay end" and/or the "self Clean" and the two tone beep ends. I can turn off the "Delay end" LED by pushing the "Self Clean". The "Self Clean" LED stays on and pushing the "Delay end" button again turns its LED back on. I shut the washer off then back with the door closed. Pushing the "Spin only", "Extra spin" or "Extra rinse" causes a beep but no LEDs come on. After pondering the situation for about 5min the door suddenly locked on its own and two minutes more there were more beeps. The door unlocked when I pushed both the "Spin" and "Soil level" for 3 seconds.
I think the washer is possessed. I hope I can do a normal load of laundry tomorrow. Any idea of what to try next?

Washers and DryersHere is an update on the possessed washer. It performed a normal load the next day but I still cannot alter any functions and the digital clock display never showed the normal countdown during the cycles. Any suggestions are welcome.
