Re: Samsung Washer - Brown Residue - DISGUSTING!

JUMP TO SOLUTION

Hi.  We have just started to get the same issue with our WA52J8700AW/A2 washer that is 3 years old.  No matter how many SELF CLEAN cycles we have done, nothing is working!  I needed to call Best Buy and set up a service call to see what the culprit may be.  I feel fortunate that we purchased a 5 year extended warranty!! (so much for "durable goods")   I have a feeling that it may be the same issue as the above poster.  I will get back to this forum with an update after next Thursday's service call.

Meanwhile........

My Samsung WA45H7000A washer has been leaving brown residue on our clothes for months.  We have only had this washer for less than three years.  I have cleaned and cleaned the inside of the washer, as well as run the self-cleaning cycle many, many times in the past three years.  Finally, I decided to investigate what is causing the disgusting residue on our clothes.  As soon as I took the bolt cover off of the pulsator, I knew what the problem was.   Just under that cover, there was mold.  I took out the bolt and removed the pulsator and there is mold ALL OVER under it and all the way down to the bottom of the washer which you can not get to to clean.  How disgusting!  I have been washing my kids' clothes in this mold for months and months?!?!  I'm sure Samsung is going to do nothing about this!  There is no way to clean this - I am going to have to get a new washer.  I sure hope my Samsung dryer, refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, and microwave last longer than this!  I will never buy Samsung products again!

Oh my gosh! I have been so frustrated with this washer that wasn't even a year old and kept producing brown sludgy guk on the bottom of the washer and on my supposed clean washed clothes. I would use the deep clean cycle at least once a month, rinse and spin cycles I don't how many wasted times, only to not be able to rid that washer of the sludge. I absolutely love their televisions, cellular phones, dryer, and refrigerator, but that washer has got to go. I new it was coming from the washer and would be very conscientious to using th deep clean cycle and rinse and spins hoping to be rid of it or at least keep it in check, but nope, always there. I have to clean the bottom and lower sides of the drum, and then the white top area to the drum has it spilling out of the cracks, which I can't completely get to even with toothpicks. I have to admit, my entire Hawaii family - parents, sister, and brothers, including my family out in Nevada are lovers of Samsung products. But their washers, I honestly can't believe it came from them. I'm a Realtor and have had to warn my clients to stay away from their washers, as good looking as they may be, the product is more like a dirtier instead of a cleaner, not to mention, if that sludge is detrimental to our health. Buyers beware and look elsewhere.

ImI am having the same issue, I have cleaned the washer multiple times on the pure cycle, but it just keeps getting worse. I’ve use vinegar and baking soda ran the self clean and still brown residue.  I removed the cap and cleaned under there too still more brown sledge after running the self clean.

I contacted customer support and they just took my contact information and said someone would contact me.   I have not heard back from anyone.

At this point I will never buy anything from Samsung!   I have to go buy another washer.

It is a design flaw that Samsung is not dealing with and they are exposing their customers to mold.

Not solved.  Happening to many Samsung washers.  Looks like oil stains.  Not from a dirty washer, from a defective product.   Samsung needs to fix.

We also have the same problem with no solution.  Very disappointing and aggrevating.  I have a family of five and we rely heavily on our washing machine!  This has been quite a set back!  The clean cycle is ran and does not help.  In fact, the clean cycle is ran before my machine indicates it should be done.

Same issue here. I just bought a new home where the washer conveyed. What a disgusting nightmare. The washer is less than two years old and the bottom of this washer is caked in mold. I am allergic to mold so I knew there was something amiss right away.
