The two devices don't interact with each other. They each have their own separate job.

Thanks for clarifying! I have great news for you! According to our parts website (linked below) the stacking kit model SKK-8K is compatible with all 27" laundry units. This includes both the washer model WF45A6400AW and the dryer model DV42H5000EW from your original post. This means you absolutely can stack this dryer on this washer!
