I received my recall notice for the top flying off. Dish network came and did the repair, I thought weird. I was supposed to have an extended warranty for a year, but i dont know if that has lapsed. Tonight my washer cap broke off and was in the pocket of a pair of jeans. Two of the three tabs that holds this little plastic cap on are stuck in my machine. I don't know if this cap is covered but based on what I have read in these posting it isn't.
I read that without this cap my clothes most likely will get damaged. Wishing I had taken the money and went shopping again for a washer.

I have the same issue with my Samsung washing machine. I am on my 5th cap this year! I was purchasing them on Amazon for $11 a piece and they have now gone up to $20!! I do not understand why they keep breaking off. I would appreciate it if I could please receive a replacement part again and suggestions on how to get it to stay in place. This is very frustrating because not only is the cap tearing up the clothes when it detaches during the wach cycle, but the exposed bolt is damaging them as well.
I am now on my third cap in a year. it seems to break when washing towels. It is cheaply made and the plastic tabs seem to break very easily. Why can't Samsung fix the problem with a better made part? $15 every few months is getting ridiculous. And the washer is subject to a recall for blowing up. Made a bad choice choosing Samsung washer which was incredibly expensive.
