Washers and DryersI purchased a Samsung WA52M7750AV 06/21/2019. Recently while doing a small load of laundry I heard a serious grinding sound. When I looked inside the washer it was not spinning, it would turn about 3/4 of a turn, make a grinding sound and then turn the other direction. After I stopped the washer it would no longer turn.
I looked under the washer and found that there was plastic that had fallen out of the motor assembly. After removing the assembly I found that this part had failed, it looks to be a part of the clutch assembly.
Is this a common problem? It seems like getting only 2 years out of a part that is connected to the drive motor is way too short.
