Washer takes multiple power button presses to start

We have a Samsung Washer that will only start after several clicks to the Power/Start Button. It sometimes is very frustrating, as it takes a couple of minutes for us to keep pressing with a hope that it will start.

Pls see below the tech specs of the Samsung front-loaded Washer we have.

Give the following troubleshooting steps a shot Smiley Happy

  1. Make sure the power cord is plugged in.

The outlet needs to be a well-grounded, 120V, three-prong outlet, protected by a 20-amp circuit. To confirm the outlet is working, plug in something else, like a lamp.

  2. Check the power cord is not damaged.

If the power cord is damaged, visit our Support Center to request service.

  3. Verify the laundry room has its own dedicated circuit.

Your washer and dryer will typically share the same circuit, although electric dryers require a 240V outlet that a washer cannot use. Do not have any other devices on the same circuit as the washer and dryer.

  4. Check if the circuit breaker has been tripped.

Tripped circuits often look like they're on. To be sure, switch the circuit off, then back on again.

  5. Make sure the washer is not plugged into a surge protector.

Samsung does not recommend using surge protectors with our washers.

If the above troubleshooting steps didn't help, here are some service options:

- If your unit was recently purchased, you can check with your retailer on their return/exchange process.

- If you have an extended warranty you can reach out to them to have service processed.
