I think it might be cool if you can snooze an application's notifications for a set amount of time. 

Perhaps it could be a long press action available on a notification to snooze application for a specified time. 

And then you can have a ui to modify application snooze or remove it entirely. 

Or alternatively- perhaps in particular modes you can select which apps can pass through notifications and all others are snoozed. 

But honestly a long press on a particular noisy app for a set amount of time would be cool.
