I have 1TB storage with SD card on my S10. I THOUGHT about going with the S20, but didn't like camera reviews. I figured that I would get the S21 because its camera is improved. But with no SD card, I can't do it. I've been to 50 countries and have 32,000+ pictures on my phone (last time I looked) and I like sharing them by showing them from my phone. And I travel to places that don't have cell service, or it is very expensive, so I like have the pictures ON THE PHONE. I've had OneDrive backup since it was first called SkyDrive, but it is too slow compared to locating and showing things on my phone. (in addition to sometimes not having cell service)
I guess I will have to wait for the S22 or S30 or something. Bummer.

If I use SmartView, I can mirror to a Roku Streaming Stick+. Then the TV can see my phone screen and hear the phone audio. For the audio part, there is a notification that has SmartThings audio and I can choose whether the audio is on the phone or the TV through the Roku. However, if I try to do the same thing with a Zoom meeting running the Zoom app, the only way I can seem to get audio is from the phone and there is no SmartThings audio notification. Anyone know how to get the audio from a Zoom meeting on a TV while using Smart View app to mirror it through Roku to TV?

Oh, I found it. I had to open the contact and the slide it up so I could see the numbers. Then long press the number I wanted as default. So far it seems to have stuck. We'll see if it goes away...

I have a few contacts with multiple phone numbers. How do I set a DEFAULT phone number? I am using Outlook as my contacts source and in Outlook, I can and did make one be the default. But on the phone, even though it syncs information, it doesn't know what the default is. I think on the phone Contacts app, I even rearranged the order of the phone numbers only to have it change it back later (not sure why). OR, if I can't set a default, is there a way to at least make it display the possible phone numbers and let me choose one?

Ah yes, I didn't see that at first. Thanks. I also found a place in settings that shows fast wireless charging and the amount of battery left. (like 19hours) and on that page it actually adds some text that SAYS it is fast charging, when it is.

I bought a couple of new wireless chargers for our S10 phones. How can I tell if it is actually "fast charging"? I can see that it recognized the phone and is charging. But is there someplace to look that will tell me if it is just low energy charging or better than that?

I was having a lot of trouble connecting to my LG OLED65B7A TV with my Galaxy S10. I would get connected about 1 time in 10 tries. After the Android 10 update, I get connected on the first try almost all the time. So far, I've only had the connection fail once. Also, I tried using Dex with my Windows Phone "puck" used to get windowed applications on the TV and it was very flaky. The HDMI connection would cycle through connect and disconnect and I had to hit the notification menu at just the right time to get connected. Now the hdmi connection is solid and every time I plug into the puck usb connection, I get Dex on the 65 inch screen. Very nice. And the usb keyboard and touchpad connected to the puck wireless usb works great too.

Never mind. I disconnected the bluetooth wireless headphones from the TV, I rebooted the phone, powered the tv off and on, made sure that the wifi on the TV was connected, and then the Smart View showed the TV with the choice for Mirror Screen and it worked. Hopefully it will continue working.

There are two ways I want to connect my phone to my LG OLED65B7A TV. One is with the Smart View sharing my screen to the TV. (miracast). This used to work. I had trouble with the connection and to try a bunch of times, but then it would finally connect. But now when I run Smart View, it looks for devices, finds the TV, but instead of saying "Mirror Screen", it says "Play Content" as if all the TV was was a speaker. On the other hand, I want to use the phone with my Windows Phone Puck that plugs into the TV. I was suprised before that I could get it to work at all. But after playing a bit, I could get it to connect. However, during that connection, the phone was making and breaking the HDMI connection and I had to catch it at just the right time for it to work (which wasn't easy). But now, the Puck works immediately and fine so that I can use Dex. That part is great! Now how can I mirror the screen again without hardware connection, but just through wi-fi or whatever it was using before?

My contacts are synced with Outlook. I see there were apparently two contacts linked in Outlook. So I think when it was showing the old number, it was getting it from a linked contact. So I have deleted the link and I think everything is ok now. MAYBE that was the whole problem. Not 100% sure.

When I edit a contact in the Contacts app (orange icon as I don't know if it is Android or Samsung's app) and I change the phone number, instead of still having only one phone number, I have two. The original one and then a second one (the correction). I'm pretty sure I did this successfully in the past, but now I seem to have to delete the extra one after I realize that it is still there. ... time passes ... Just now I went in again and I don't even see the duplicate to delete it.

Yay, I got it. I went to this web page: https://help.content.samsung.com/csweb/faq/searchFaq.do And found these instructions: Disconnect and then reconnect your USB cable while Samsung DeX for PC is running on your PC. Once your mobile device is recognized by your PC, a "Samsung DeX is connected." message will appear in the notification panel on the mobile device, and then the Samsung DeX Home screen will appear on the PC screen. If you can't see the Samsung DeX Home screen even after reconnecting the USB cable, try the following: - Reinstall the USB Driver on your PC. ▷ USB Driver installation directory on a Windows PC: C:\ > Program Files (additional characters, such as "(x86)", may follow depending on the system) > Samsung > Samsung DeX > USB Driver > SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe ※ A USB driver for Mac is not provided separately. - The driver may not run immediately after installation. In that case, restart your PC. - If the USB cable or hub is damaged, you may not be able to connect. Try a different USB cable or hub. ※ If Samsung DeX does not work correctly on a PC running on Qualcomm's Snapdragon platform (Windows on ARM), we recommend that you connect the PC through a USB hub instead of connecting it directly using a USB cable. - Check the USB option through the notification displayed on your device. Then, select "This phone" for the "USB controlled by" option. - Check whether the "Samsung DeX" icon is on the system tray of the taskbar. If you don't see it, run the "Samsung DeX" program. If you see the "Samsung DeX" icon, reconnect the USB hub or cable. ※ PCs within a company and public PCs typically have their own security software installed, so you may be unable to connect to them via USB. If you can't connect to a PC via USB, contact the administrator of the relevant PC I ran the SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe and re-installed the drivers. That didn't help, but I rebooted the PC and then I think it took. When I next plugged in the phone, the app auto launched and the red exclamation points were now spinning circles and then it connected. Cool. And... I just realized Dex recognizes my touch screen gestures too. Very nice.

Do you ALSO run "Your Phone" app on the PC? I'm wondering if there is a conflict with that and Dex as they sort of do similar stuff. I can see the phone screen and interact with the phone from within "Your Phone" through the USB. So, inquiring minds want to know... I tried to uninstall the "Your Phone", but uninstall was grayed out. I DID do a "Terminate" hoping to stop all the things it uses, but it didn't help.

Hmm... I don't think I'm using UI 2.0 beta2. How do I clear the phone's cache partition? I've read a couple of posts and it is confusing me 🙂 And I hope it isn't going to lose ANY files I have, correct? Are you in the U.S. since someone it worked for other countries, but not the U.S.?

I watched a YouTube video that showed using Dex with Windows 10 and I thought, "I want to do that!" So I downloaded the Windows 10 Dex app and installed it. All seemed to go well. Then it wanted me to plug it into the USB port of the computer, which I did. But the App just sits there waiting to see the phone being plugged into the computer. It has red exclamation points on the USB connectors in the diagram. But Windows tells me that the device was plugged in. And I can see it in File Manager. And transfer files between the two using File Manager. I tried rebooting phone, uninstalling and re-installing the Windows 10 app, uninstalling, deleting and re-installilng USB drivers, re-installing . Still nothing. I looked into Device Manager and I see two USB drivers associated with Samsung. "Samsung Mobile USB Composite Device" and "Samsung Mobile USB Connectivity Device V2" The phone has a notification that says "You can use Dex on your computer". At one point, a dialog on the phone popped up and I could see that "Transferring files" option was set for USB. What am I missing?

I called the number, and as I expected, they were of little help. Once again a generic type response, "Our technicians are working on it, try to clear the cache and reboot". Of course, that didn't make any difference. First off, I think I was remembering my Windows 10 Lumia phone tracking on the map and not the Samsung. However, the Samsung DOES track my movement if I click on the walking exercise icon. When I just go for a walk, the S10 phone does track steps and distance and time, but doesn't track it on the map. I don't know why, since it automatically starts tracking steps, that it doesn't track it on the map. Especially since when it determines that you have stopped walking, it SHOWS a map (with no path on it). I think this is a software oversight. I hope they change it, but I doubt my complaint got passed on to the developers.

My phone used to track the PATH I walked. Then when I stopped walking and looked at the app, it would show that path on the map. For a while now, it just shows my current location and doesn't show any walked path. Has some new option been added that controls this? Or did I turn off some setting on the phone that broke this part of the app? It DOES record the number of steps, just not the path. I know location works on the phone because it works with Google Maps and Here Wego maps.

I tried to use the pre-ordered phones directly from Samsung, but had to send it back since AT&T couldn't get the unlocked phone to use their data service.
So both phones are direct from AT&T and purchased at the same time. Not sure what the "full model number" is, nor where to display it. They are both Galaxy S10. However, my phone does have the 512gig memory and my wife's only has the 128gig.

I THINK it shows all the time on mine. Not sure. I just happened to notice it when Outlook asked for her password for the hundredth time for Spectrum mail. I was setting it up again and noticed the difference.
I don't know why safe mode would make a difference, but no, I didn't try it because I didn't know about it. I'll look for it.

At the top of my S10 is a line of status icons (don't know what it might be called). I have a time followed by "AT&T".
My wife's phone is also an S10. But her line does not show the "AT&T" part.
Is there some setting somewhere that makes that appear? I'm surprised our phones aren't showing the same things.
