Surveys usually mean something is probably coming vaguely soon because they're going to be taking that information into account. Not tomorrow or anything most likely but pretty soon for sure.

Yeah I'm getting hated on for saying this is more of an alpha quality release and told that this should be expected of a beta when I literally do beta testing all the time and the things happening here would be classified as too severe to meet standards for a beta release therefore it would get canned or reworked before making it to that channel. At the very least if it slipped through without being noticed the release would get pulled before too many people were able to have the huge problem, and you should have an easier option to revert to stable than completely resetting your device and only in one way.

I did the surveys and there's just a couple of things I am particularly bothered by that are not bug related. The notifications and app permissions control takeover I disagree with and feel like is no longer under my control, instead becoming difficult to manage and fighting me on my settings for how they want it instead of me. The design points are mostly going to be down to personal preference or opinion (and not such a big deal in the end).

I still do not agree with Facebook being forced into my device. This is purely tracking intentions and wasted space. No other social media is forced so it's clear someone paid Samsung to grab their user data at Facebook and gave the app easy access and made it hard to remove completely.

I still feel like they should have seen the bigger bugs like this and not passed them along to the build. Breaking the phone function itself and then this being a main feature are both near inexcusable especially when they delayed it. Makes me wonder if they even tried to test anything or just let it all burn down if it was a bad build.

I'd unfortunately say so if you haven't addressed this already because that tends to eliminate the software side if you do that and what I suggested as well to no response.

Until I see it I don't trust it is how I have to work with Samsung because just like their shipping practices which aren't stellar and they've been dishonest with, this is another one of those things you can't trust. It could be a bug it's even there due to the nature that this is a beta and someone didn't edit out that line of code. That comment there is also a lie by the way and trying to get people to shut up. It's well within the scope and definitely something worth "testing" but they're never going to do it and won't admit it to your face.

This is far from beta quality. Maybe an alpha release at best. I frequently beta test and this is just sad. I've even done the Samsung betas before and they were much better done. They tested nothing and don't intend to fix anything it looks like.

Send an error report when it does it. That's what I was told of any of the things that aren't on the known problem list that seem common like this.

They apparently didn't hire enough software developers or quality testers. It's obvious this build wasn't ready and so many things are not. It should have been delayed until they could make things compatible and fix glaring obvious issues.

I tried to report the issue and got ranted at about not submitting logs which apparently the broken app isn't doing so I told them that and they didn't like it!

They claim this is a security issue and won't unlock it. Therefore your options are yes, another vendor. They're trying to be Apple more all the time and it's sad. They forgot where they came from.

Exactly. If there was no critical reviews, no issues would get fixed or be identified. If someone does something better that's worth mentioning in my opinion. I thought opinions were allowed and that was part of telling them what we wanted.

It's really not "normal" for beta software and means they have issues to fix big time if things are to the point of crashing like we're seeing. This is an Alpha. I can't believe they have the nerve to call it a Beta test. It's far from anything close to worthy of a Beta. Beta means minor bugs and cosmetic issues. It does not mean to expect completely losing functional use and crashing completely.

Sound like you just have a hardware issue then. If a cache clear and reboot aren't helping your port probably just went bad. It can happen.

It's not outdated if they're only doing a beta. I could see if I was a whole version back but not just about a beta. Technically it's just stable release channel versus bleeding edge.

You have to open any app you want notifications from and it pops up with a yes or no prompt asking if you want them. Otherwise it's never going to send them. I find this annoying personally as I've already told the phone I want or don't want notifications and from what. It's taking over and turning off all of them. There's also the option to go into notifications in the settings and see recents and try to turn them back on but it won't list everything so it's impossible.
